HAZARD — A Knott County man was recently arrested for allegedly possessing methamphetamine.
On August 6, Zach Miller of the Hazard Police Department was waved down while driving through the Walmart parking lot. When he stopped, a woman informed him that she was in an argument with a male and was seeking assistance, according to a police citation filed in the district clerk’s office.
The woman said she had been arguing with 33-year-old Ary L. Patrick of Fisty. Patrick told the officer that he had gone with the woman to visit her husband, who was being lodged at the Kentucky River Regional Jail. The woman said that the argument started when he wanted to by narcotics while in her vehicle.
Officer Miller reported that Patrick continued to put his hands in his pockets as if to grab something. When he search Patrick, Miller reported that he found a pill bottle in his right front pocket that contained an unknown amount of methamphetamine.
Patrick was placed under arrest and charged with possession of methamphetamine, second offense.
