The Perry County Central Commodore soccer team played a pair of games on the road this past week. The Commodores were shut out at Letcher on Tuesday, and then tied Belfry 3-3 on Thursday.
The Commodores did not fare well at Letcher Central on Tuesday. Perry Central got a shot early that banged off the post, and then did not get off a single shot the rest of the game.
On Thursday, the Commodores took on the Belfry Pirates. The Commodores took the early lead, but could only come away with a 3-3 tie.
Perry Central got on the board first as Corey Mullis and Dylan Wooton teamed up for a goal. Corey Mullis split the defense and then crossed the ball to the middle of the field where Dyaln Wooton finished off the play.
At the 25-minute mark, Tyler Mullins booted a ball over the heads of the defense. Dane Mullins picked up the ball and went one-on-one with the goalie. Mullins won the battle, giving Perry Central the 2-0 lead.
Belfry came storming back, and eventually built a one-goal advantage. With four minutes left in the game, the Commodores got the equalizer. Corey Mullis and Dylan Wooton hooked up again. This time Wooton would finish with the header.
The game ended with a 3-3 tie.
