HAZARD – Authorities in Perry County are investigating a late night burglary at fast food restaurant.
The Hardee’s on Highway 15 in Hazard was closed late Monday night when the perpetrator pried open the door and broke into the business’s safe, getting away with an undetermined amount of money, according to Det. Paul Campbell with the Hazard Police Department.
Police were alerted to the break-in Tuesday morning when employees arrived for their shift, though Campbell said there was video surveillance recovered from the business. He added that police are not currently releasing many details about the crime as the investigation remains open this week.
“We’re working the leads that we have right now, and we hope to have the party involved charged soon,” Campbell said.
