Wilburn Ray Combs, 71, died Monday, Nov. 5 at the Hazard ARH medical center.
He was born January 1, 1941, the son of the late Wilson Combs and the late Maude Dobson Combs, and was also preceded in death by his first wife, Mallie Combs, and brother Lowell Combs.
He was a genuine and hard-working man who never met a stranger and had a kind word for everyone. He loved to make others laugh, and will be dearly missed by his loved ones. He was a life-long resident of Perry County and affiliated with the Jeff Missionary Baptist Church.
He is survived by his wife of six years, Linda Combs of Acup; sons Jeff Combs and wife Tonya of Acup, Alger Combs and wife Delores of Maces Creek, and Roger Combs and wife Kathy of Maces Creek; stepchildren Chris Combs of Winchester and Courtney Combs of Acup; brothers Wilson Junior Combs of Scuddy and Billy Pearl Combs of Delaware; grandchildren Jeffery, Keana, Daniel Samuel, Samantha, and Roger, Jr.; great-grandchildren Austin and Addison; and a host of special family and friends.
Funeral services were conducted on Thursday, Nov. 8 at the Vicco Church of God with Sam Fields and Estill Sizemore officiating. The interment followed in the Ira Combs Cemetery at Acup.
Engle-Bowling Funeral Home of Hazard was in charge of arrangements.
