The first semifinal of the 6th grade tournament was fought by the A. B. Combs Lady Bearcats and the Big Creek Lady Bobcats. The Lady Bearcats managed a small lead early, and pulled away late for the win.
Things were slow in the first period, with scoring at a premium. A. B. Combs managed a small lead in the frame, and at the horn, they held the 4-0 lead.
The Lady Bearcats picked up the pace in the second period, and began to open up a lead. The Lady Bobcats got their first and only point of the half late. Going into the locker room, A. B. Combs held the 10-1 advantage.
A. B. Combs found their groove in the second half, and put the game out of reach. With six minutes left in the game, the Lady Bearcats held the 22-7 lead.
The Lady Bearcats picked up the pace in the final period as new players hit the floor ready for action. A. B. Combs was able to move into the finals with the 36-9 win.
