The Perry County Central Lady Commodores boarded a bus this week and traveled to Middlesboro to take on the Lady Yellowjackets for the second time in a week. Unlike the first game, Middlesboro made things interesting early, leaving Perry Central to pull away in the second half for the win.
The first half became a titanic struggle for control of the tempo, with neither team getting the better of the deal. The first quarter ended with a 14-all tie, and they went to the intermission tied at 33.
The second half proved to be all Perry Central. The Lady Commodores’ defense shut down the Lady Jackets in the third period, lifting them to the 57-36 lead.
Middlesboro got back on track in the fourth quarter, but it would be too little, too late. Perry Central went on to the 78-50 win.
