The Buckhorn Wildcats hosted the Harlan Green Dragons Friday evening in a game that remained tight most of the way, with the Wildcats taking control late for the win.
The game went back and forth in the opening period, with the Green Dragons getting the better of the scoring (19-17). The Wildcats got things going in the second period, and eventually took the lead. Buckhorn went into the locker room with the 27-26 advantage.
The two teams continued to battle like each possession was the game-winner. At the end of the third period, Buckhorn had added but a single point to their lead (46-44).
The Green Dragons lost their bite in the fourth quarter, and the Wildcats began to pull away. Buckhorn was able to close out the game strong, and collected the 74-62 win.
