In game number three of the Republic Bank Classic, the Perry County Central Commodores took on the Eagles of Ohio County. Despite some very hot shooting by the Eagles (a dozen threes made), the Commodores were able to stay focused and came away with the win.
The Commodores got off to a slow start as the Eagles opened up an early lead. Perry Central fell victim to a flurry of threes and went down 23-15 at the horn.
Perry Central was able to slow down their opponent in the second period, and began to make up some ground. Even with the period’s strong play, the Commodores went into the locker room trailing (38-34).
The Commodores continued to improve their game in the third period, and eventually took the lead. Perry Central was able to go up by double digits in the frame, but finished with a 60-53 advantage.
Ohio County got back on track in the fourth quarter, and rained five shots from behind the arc on Perry Central. However, The Commodores were more than up to the task, and outscored the Eagles to preserve the 82-73 win.
