The Buckhorn Wildcats hosted the June Buchanan Crusaders early last week. The Wildcats got off to a strong start before they faltered. They would recover in the second half and later cruise to the 85-55 win.
Buckhorn would come out hot and quickly establish a double-digit lead. However, at the end of the first period, June Buchanan began to make a move. At the horn, the Wildcats were on top 28-17.
The Wildcats went ice cold in the second period, and the Crusaders were able to sneak up on them and eventually take the lead (31-29). However, Buckhorn would recover, and went into the locker room on top 38-32.
Buckhorn pulled out all the stops in the third period, and June Buchanan could do little to stop a strong Wildcat run. With eight minutes left to play, the Wildcats were in the lead 72-43.
The Wildcats were able to invoke the “continuous clock” early in the fourth quarter. The game came to a quiet end, with Buckhorn collecting the 85-55 win.
