On Saturday, the Perry County Central Lady Commodores traveled to Ashland to participate in the Lady Kitten Classic, taking on the Lady Lions of Boyd County.
Perry Central was on top of their game early and used their defense to post a 19-10 lead. The margin would prove necessary down the stretch.
Boyd County began to find their groove in the second period and kept pace with Perry Central. The Lady Commodores were able to protect their lead, and went into the locker room with the 33-26 advantage.
The two teams continued the even play into the third period, and ended the quarter with a tie. This left the Lady Commodores still holding on to the seven point lead (44-37).
The Lady Lions made a strong run at the lead in the fourth quarter, but the Lady Commodores were up to the challenge. Perry Central was able to hold off the final charge, and went on to collect the 60-56 win.
