Rex Allen Hammons, 60, died Saturday, Jan. 5 at the Hazard ARH medical center.
He was born Jan. 14, 1952 in Perry County, the son of the late Arnold Hammons and the late Suda Young Hammons, and was also preceded in death by his sister, Helen Hammons.
He was a life-long resident of Perry County and a veteran of the U.S. Army.
He is survived by daughters Alisha Burgett and husband Bill of Hazard, Alison Back and husband Herman of Viper, and Kimberly Ann Hammons of Hazard; sisters Sarah Napier and husband Jack of Viper, Gwen Wright and husband Mike of Lexington, and Karen Grigsby and husband J.C. of Bulan; grandchildren Katelyn Amber Burgett, Chace Burgett, Tayshaun Allen Hammons, Tyrin Dee Hammons, Jesse Dillon Cecil Back, and Haylee Madison Sue Burgett; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be conducted on Wednesday, Jan. 9, 2013 at noon at the Middle Fork Church of Christ at Viper with Michael Wright officiating. The interment will follow in the Hammons Family Cemetery located at Viper.
Engle-Bowling Funeral Home of Hazard is in charge of arrangements.
