HAZARD – The Perry County Board of Education will hold a special called meeting Monday to discuss the search for a new superintendent.
The board accepted the early retirement of former Superintendent John Paul Amis last fall, and while Interim Superintendent Jonathan Jett has filled that position since November, the board has yet to form a search committee to begin the process of hiring a permanent replacement.
According to the agenda for a special meeting of the board set for Monday, Jan. 28 at 10 a.m., the only item of business will be discussion and action, if necessary, of the superintendent search and hiring.
The Perry County Board of Education meets at the district’s central office next to Perry Central High School.
