The Perry County Central Lady Commodores and the Leslie County Lady Eagles battled for the 54th district JV title on Saturday. The Lady Commodores got off to a slow start, but quickly picked up the pace to easily came away with the title.
The two teams traded baskets early, and midway through the score was tied at six. Perry Central took a slim lead at the horn, going up 11-9.
In the second period, the Lady Commodores went on a major run, extending their lead. Going into the locker room, Perry Central was on top 29-15.
Perry Central held Leslie County to a single field goal in the third period, all but putting the game on ice (39-17). The game ended quietly, with the Lady Commodores taking the title 43-22.
