Zona Roberts, 86, of Slemp, died Saturday, Feb. 23 at the hospice care center in Hazard.
She was a devoted member of the Leatherwood Church of Christ, and the daughter of the late Harlan Stidham and Martha Jane Colwell.
She was also preceded in death by her husbands, Otis Eldridge, Elbert “Buck” Couch, and Roland Roberts; daughter Carol Sue Hendrickson; step-daughter Eunice Holbrook; sons John D. Eldridge and Carson Eldridge; two brothers; and three sisters.
She is survived by daughters Geneva Pennington and husband Luther of Cumberland, Prudie Lewis and husband Jerry of Hazard, Beulah Turner of Slemp; and step-children Oda Cox and husband Blake of Chicago, Manis Roberts and wife Dorothy of Slemp, Orpha Cornett and husband Harlan of Slemp, Mavis Roberts of Hazard, and Mason Roberts and wife Ollie of Slemp.
She is also survived by 11 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, and eight great-great-grandchildren.
Arrangements are being handled by Maggard Mountain View Chapel of Hazard, where the family will receive friends from noon to 2 p.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 26. Services will follow with Manis Roberts and Jeff Roberts officiating. Interment will be at Beech Fork Cemetery in Leatherwood.
