Early last week, the Perry County Central Lady Commodores traveled to Pikeville to take on the Lady Panthers. The Lady Commodores fell behind early, but still managed to take the win in just five innings.
Perry Central failed to score in the top of the first inning, but then gave up a pair of runs to Pikeville in the bottom of the frame. The Lady Commodores would more than make up the difference in the second inning as they plated eight runs to take the 8-2 advantage.
The third inning was a repeat of the second for the Lady Commodores. Perry Central used the barrage to jump ahead 15-2. Pikeville picked up a run in the bottom of the inning, but the Lady Commodores erased it in the fourth.
The two teams traded runs in the fifth inning, giving Perry Central the 18-4 lead. The margin brought the game to an early end, with the Lady Commodores claiming the win.
