A game last week between Hazard and Clay County was close in the early going, but the Bulldogs were able to break open for a 13-3 win by the time the dust settled.
Hazard jumped out to the 3-0 lead in the first inning. All three runs came off a home run by Jordan Olinger.
Clay County tightened the score (3-2) with a pair of runs in the second inning. Hazard erased one of the runs in the bottom of the frame, giving them the 4-2 advantage.
The Bulldogs doubled their tally in the third inning (8-2), and finished the game off in the fourth inning with five runs (13-2). The Tigers tried to keep the game alive in the fifth inning, but could only come up with one run (13-3), allowing the game to end.
Austin Johnson got the win, going the distance giving up one earned run on three hits, one walk and three strikeouts.
