Early in the week, the Perry County Central Lady Commodores took on the Leslie County Lady Eagles. The Lady Commodores racked up all their runs early, and held on for the 4-1 win.
The first inning proved to be all the Lady Commodores would need as they touched the plate three times to take the 3-0 lead. Perry Central added another run to their tally in the second inning, bringing their total to four. It would be all the runs the Lady Commodores would score, or need.
Leslie County got a small rally going in the fifth inning, but Perry Central quickly snuffed it out. The Lady Eagles would not threaten again, and the Lady Commodores went on to win by the final count of 4-1.
Whitney Back got the win, going the distance with four hits, nine strikeouts, and five walks.
Perry Central (4) Mahayla Walker 1 run, Whitney Back 1 hit and 2 RBI, Pam Sebastian 3 hits and 2 runs, Rachel Curry 1 RBI, Hannah Johnson 1 hit and 1 RBI and Katey Pigman 1 hit and 1 run.
