Nellie Lou Gill, 83, of Harrodsburg, Ky., died Friday, May 10.


She was the wife of Joseph M. Gill and a native of Hazard, and the daughter of the late Morton H. and Maude (Dixon) Steele.


She was a retired Mercer County school teacher, and a member of the Harrdosburg United Presbyterian Church, Kate Ricker Church Circle, Presbyterian Women, New Comer’s Homemaker’s Club, NEA, KEA, Mercer Retired Teacher’s Association, Ky. Economic Assoc., and co-founder of the Pioneer Saddle Club.


She was also survived by her daughter, Jennifer Gill Dobbs and husband Phillip of Lexington; brother Tommy Steele and wife Justine of Williamstown; grandson Justin Lee Gill Dobbs of Lexington; and several nieces and nephews.


She was preceded in death by three brothers: Walter, Harold, and Julius Steele.


Arrangements are being handled by Ransdell Funeral Chapel of Harrodsburg, where the visitation will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, May 15 with Rev. Jackie Lindberg officiating.


Pallbearers are Nathan Arvin, David Steele, Gary Ginter, Larry Yeager, Allen McQuerry, Amos Jenkins, Earl Hungate, and Shari Coffman. Honorary bearers are Lisa Centers, Margaret Dugan, Ellen Ipps, Nancy Jenkins, Bob McQuerry, Sandy Russell, and the Pioneer Saddle Club members.
