David Patterson, 75, of Slemp, died Tuesday, May 7 at the hospice care center in Hazard.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy and a retired teacher for the Hazard vocational school. He was the son of the late Bob Patterson and the late Mary Brewer Patterson, and was also preceded in death by his first wife, Jeanne Patterson and a host of siblings.
He is survived by his wife, Edith Patterson; daughters Teresa Huff and husband Arlis of Leatherwood, and Pattie Smith and husband Frank of Hazard; step-daughter Renee Roberts and husband Terry of Slemp; step-son Robert Oney and wife Brandy of Winchester, Ky.; sister Sally Summers of Hazard; grandchildren P.J. Amburgey, David Epperson, Shawn Huff, Jamie Huff, and Sean Williams; step-great-grandchildren Noah Oney, Nathaniel Oney, Danielle Roberts, Matthew Roberts, and Melonie Williams; and great-grandchildren Shawn Paul Huff, Meranda Huff, Morgan Huff, Landon Huff, and Makayla Amburgey.
Arrangements were handled by Maggard Mountain View Chapel of Hazard, where the services were held on Friday, May 10 with Rev. Fred Ballard officiating.
