Hundreds of people turned out for the annual Relay for Life in Perry County this past weekend, as groups came together to raise money for the American Cancer Society, an organization dedicated to funding research to develop new treatments and find cures for cancer. Relays for Life are held across the nation each year, and Perry County’s has raised thousands of dollars through donations and fundraisers such as the annual Jail and Bail each year. This year’s Relay in Hazard kicked off Saturday afternoon in the Perry County Park with recognition of several local residents who have survived their battles with cancer. The event continued through Sunday morning.
