Maurice Wells, 76, of Ary, died Wednesday, July 3 at the hospice care center in Hazard.
He was retired from General Motors and the son of the late Fletcher Wells and the late Hazel Carter Wells. He was also preceded in death by his wife and mother of his six children, Flora Hoover Wells; brothers Paul, Raymond, Teddy, and Kenneth; and sister Christine Andrews.
He is survived by his wife Vesta Wells; daughters Marsandria Ball and husband Neighen, Mary McDaniel and husband Chris, and Hazel Wilson and husband Bill, all of Ohio; sons Fletcher Wells and wife Billie of Tennessee, Kenneth Wells and wife Brenda of Ohio, and Mark Wells and wife Karen of Ohio; step sons Kip Combs and wife Billie, Mike Combs, and Kevin Combs and wife Mardell, all of Bulan; sisters Lois Stacy and husband K.C. of Grapevine, Wanda Campbell and husband James of Perry County, Brenda Cain and husband Bob of Ohio, and Sherian Mullarkey of Ohio; brother Raymond Wells of Crab Orchard, Ky.; special sister-in-law Sue Wells; and a host of grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Arrangements are being handled by Maggard Mountain View Chapel of Hazard, where the family received friends on Wednesday, July 3. Burial will take place in Ohio.
