The Perry County Central Commodores hoped to improve on their 1-1 record as they welcomed in the Tates Creek Commodores on Friday. Things would not go well for the home-standing Commodores as their opponents came away with the win.
The first period was tight with each team taking the ball away from the other. Tates Creek got on the board first with a 62-yard pass play, giving them the 7-0 lead.
Perry Central capitalized on a turnover and marched down the field for a score. Nathan Pray finished off the series with an eight-yard run. The extra point was no good, setting the score at 6-7.
The second period would belong to Tates Creek. They added two touchdowns to their total on a pair of runs. Tates Creek went into the locker room with the 21-6 lead.
Tates Creek added two more touchdowns to the board in the third period, extending the advantage to 35-6. That would be the score that went into the final period.
The only score in the fourth quarter would belong to Perry Central. Devan Brewer broke off a 37-yard run to the end zone. The extra point was no good (35-12). Neither team would revisit the end zone, and the game would end with Tates Creek going home with the 35-12 win.
