The Perry County Central traveled to Paintsville on Friday to take on the Johnson Central Golden Eagles. The Commodores struggled to get their offense in gear, but proved to be no match for a powerful Eagle team.
Johnson Central got on the board first, but Perry Central wasted little time getting the points back. Nathan Pray hit Tyler Fugate on a long pass play that netted the touchdown. Michael Shepherd added the extra point for the seven-all tie.
The first quarter ended with the scored tied at seven. However, Johnson Central would take advantage of several miscues by Perry Central, and racked up 36 points in the period. The Eagles went into the half with the 43-7 lead.
The Eagles would garner a single touchdown in the third period and a field goal in the fourth. This would extend the Johnson Central lead to 53-7. Perry Central would not find the end zone again, and the game ended with the 53-7 score.
