Bulldogs qualify for state golf tourney

The Hazard High School golf team competed on Sept. 30 in the regional golf tournament at Stonecrest Golf Course in Floyd County.


Out of 17 teams, the Bulldogs qualified for the fifth straight year to compete in the KHSAA golf state tournament.


Hazard was led by senior John Hollan with a score of 75. He finished fifth overall, and was followed by junior Hunter Hardy with a score of 85.


Senior Mack Hall recorded a score of 86, while freshmen Ryan Smith finished at 87 and Rudy Akemon at 94.


The Bulldogs will now travel to Bowling Green to compete in the KHSAA golf tournament on Oct. 8.
