The Perry County Central Lady Commodore volleyball team played three games this past week, and were unable to come away with a win.
Perry Central opened the week with the Pike Central Lady Hawks. The Lady Commodores would put up a valiant fight, but gave up the win 3-1.
The Lady Commodores came out strong and jumped out to a big lead. At one point they were up seven. However, they would not be able to hold on, and fell 25-23.
Perry Central was not shaken by the loss in game one, and came out strong in game two. They were able to turn the tables on the Lady Hawks, and tied the match with the 25-21 win. Things would not go well for Perry Central in game three. The Lady Commodores fell behind early and did not rally, falling 25-11.
Game four turned into a war as both teams led several times. The game would need extra serves to settle the outcome. The game would go to Pike Central 27-25, giving them the match.
The Lady Commodores finished the week at the East-West Throwdown. Perry Central took on two opponents on the night, Estill County and Whitley County.
Perry Central started strong with Estill County, keeping the game close throughout. The Lady Commodores eventually succumbed 25-23.
Things would not go as well in game two as the Lady Engineers led all the way. The Lady Commodores gave up the match with the 25-13 loss.
In their final game of the week, the Lady Commodores took on the Whitley County Lady Colonels. Whitley County took the first game 25-20 and the second game 25-18.
