The Hazard Lady Bulldogs opened district play last week with the Buckhorn Lady Wildcats. The Lady Bulldogs were looking for the three-peat on 54th district titles.

Hazard started the first game strong and never looked back. Except for a brief rally by Buckhorn, the game belonged entirely to the Lady Bulldogs. Hazard went on to win the first game 25-16.

The momentum carried over to the second game. The Lady Bulldogs picked up the pace and came away with the impressive 25-10 victory.

The third game would see Hazard completely dominate. The Lady Bulldogs took the game, and the match, with the 25-5 win.

Hazard stats: Sarah Pratt 3 kills, 20 assists and 4 aces, Maddison Niece 9 kills and 3 aces, Hope Clark 2 kills, 1 dig, 2 assists and 7 aces, Andrea Stidham 1 kill and 4 aces, Marjorie Hammonds 8 kills, 1 assist and 10 aces, Ashleigh Bryant 1 kill, Brinkley Chitwood 1 dig, and Madison Gadbury 2 aces.

Buckhorn did not supply stats for this match.
