The Hazard Herald will have an opening in its editorial department at the end of the year, and the newspaper is currently accepting résumés.
The opening will be for a full-time reporter, a position that covers a variety of beats in Perry County, including education, courts, and police, as well as general assignments and feature stories.
Ideal candidates should have good writing, researching, and interviewing skills. A commitment to quality in news coverage is a strong requirement.
Duties include writing news, features, and occasional columns as assigned, along with updating the paper’s website.
