Child rape leads 19 indictments

PRESTONSBURG — A Harold man who was accused last month of raping and sodomizing a 9-year-old over a 16-month period found himself facing even more charges after a Floyd County grand jury reviewed the case.


Harvey Robinson, 57, was indicted this week on five counts of first-degree rape of a child under 12, five counts of first-degree sodomy of a child under 12, and five counts of first-degree sexual abuse of a child under 12.


Robinson was originally charged with just one count of rape and one count of sodomy.


According to a criminal complaint filed against him by Kentucky State Police Det. William Petrey, Robinson is accused of engaging in sex and sexual acts with a 9-year-old on several occasions over a 16-month period beginning in June 2012.


Robinson pleaded not guilty to the charges during his arraignment Nov. 21.


Robinson was one of 19 people indicted by the grand jury. The full list of those indicted includes:


• Harvey Robinson, five counts of first-degree rape of a child under 12, five counts of first-degree sodomy of a child under 12, five counts of first-degree sexual abuse of a child under 12


• Tammy Williamson, first-degree criminal mischief


• James Castle, first-degree fleeing or evading police, second-degree fleeing or evading police, first-degree wanton endangerment (police officer), three counts of first-degree wanton endangerment, reckless driving, persistent felony offender, no tail lamps, driving too fast for conditions, rear license not illuminated.


• Frank Elliott, second-degree burglary, theft by unlawful taking


• Austin C. Shepherd, four counts of theft by unlawful taking, four counts of tampering with physical evidence, two counts of receiving stolen property, persistent felony offender


• Eric Shepherd, theft by unlawful taking


• Willis Little, second-degree assault


• Darlene L. Russell, obtaining controlled substance by fraud, giving officer false name or address.


• Kyle Waddle, second-degree burglary, persistent felony offender


• Bryan Ed Osborne, second-degree trafficking in a controlled substance


• Jessica Wood, first-degree trafficking in a controlled substance, second-degree trafficking in a controlled substance


• Ellis Blackburn Jr., first-degree trafficking in a controlled substance


• Patrick Stapleton, first-degree trafficking in a controlled substance


• Michael Sargent, third-degree burglary, theft by unlawful taking, first-degree criminal mischief


• Jimmy R. Coleman, third-degree burglary, theft by unlawful taking, complicity to first-degree criminal mischief


• Burnis Newsome, second-degree assault of police officer, resisting arrest, menacing, persistent felony offender


• Jonathan Robinette, receiving stolen property, possession of burglary tools, persistent felony offender


• Brittany N. Honaker, receiving stolen property
