The first week of the holiday season saw a trio of local teams travel for tournaments. The Hazard Lady Bulldogs, the Perry Central Lady Commodores, and the Perry Central Commodores all saw action this week. Unfortunately, none garnered a win.

The Hazard Lady Bulldogs took part in the Republic Bank Classic at Lexington Catholic. The Lady Bulldogs dropped their first game to Allen County-Scottsville 57-24. They followed that with a 65-42 loss to Covington Holy Cross.

The Perry Central Lady Commodores traveled to Berea to take part in the Berea Holiday Classic. The Lady Commodores fell in a tight game 51-48 to Wayne County, and then fell to region foe Powell County 61-49.

In the King of the Bluegrass tournament at Fairview, the Perry Central Commodores took on a pair of out-of-state teams. After leading the entire game, the Commodores fell to the number two team out of Ohio, Shaker Heights, 66-64. In their next game, Perry Central took on the Riverside Academy, a top-rated team out of Louisiana. The Commodores came up short in this contest 84-69.
