On Friday, the Perry County Central Commodores put a split team on the floor against the Greenwich Cardinals out of Connecticut. The Cardinals brought two teams to the TECO Coal Classic, with Perry taking on the second team.
The Commodores jumped out to an early lead, and by the end of the first period, were on top 22-6. The Cardinals picked up the pace in the second period, but could not cut into the Perry Central lead. The Commodores went into the locker room with the 36-18 advantage.
The even play continued in the second half, with Perry Central being able to preserve their margin, but not really increase it. The Commodores ended the third period with the 53-34 lead, and concluded the game with the 71-50 win.
Austin Hill led the Commodores in scoring with 17 points on the night.
