On Sunday, Feb. 2, the Perry County cheerleading competition was held at Perry County Central. Teams from elementary schools across the county gathered to compete in a variety of competitions and divisions.

When the competition was complete and the scores were being tallied, the dance teams from East Perry entertained the crowd. That was followed by the Lil’ Dores, and the Perry Central cheerleaders doing their routine for Nationals later this month.

R. W. Combs took first place in the timeout cheer completion, followed by Robinson (2nd) and Buckhorn (3rd). A. B. Combs took first place in the small squad division with Viper taking second. Leatherwood placed first in the medium squad division.

The large squad division saw Chavies take first place, and East Perry second place. This year’s super-large division was won by Willard.
