Lady Dawgs fall to Lady Pirates

Last week, the Hazard Lady Bulldogs traveled to Stanton to take on the Powell County Lady Pirates. The Lady Bulldogs took the early lead, but could not hold on as they fell 12-4.

Hazard took the early lead with two runs in the first inning, but gave them back as Powell County scored single runs in each the second and third inning. The Lady Bulldogs went back on top with a run in the top of the fourth inning (3-2).

In the bottom of the fourth inning, the Lady Pirates took the lead for good as they touched the plate four times (6-3). The scoring trade would not end in the Lady Bulldogs’ favor in the fifth inning as Powell County got the upper hand 6-1 (12-4).

Neither team would score down the stretch, giving Powell County the 12-4 win.

Hazard (4) Alyssa Muha 1 RBI; Morgan Robinson 1 run; Maddison Niece 1 hit and 1 run; Aaliyah Stupart 1 hit and 1 run; Tori Wells 3 hits and 2 RBI; and Chandler Maggard 2 hits, 1 run, and 1 RBI.
