Crews in Perry County battled two separate blazes Friday evening. Firefighters were dispatched to the first fire (pictured at top) at approximately 7 p.m. on Jacks Branch in the Big Creek community, where a female was home at the time the fire began, but was able to make it out of the residence. The second fire (on bottom) was reported on Couchtown Road at approximately 8:30 p.m., where a house and another structure caught fire. Officials have not released a cause on either fire, but the Herald will provide more details as they become available.
