Hazard Check Exchange’s Annual SHARE THE WARMTH drive

Accepting coats, scarves, gloves and toboggans. New or used and all sizes needed. Drop off at Hazard Check Exchange located 151 East Main Street (same building as Subway).

Thanksgiving Buffet

Enjoy your favorite Thanksgiving food without having to cook or wash dishes at Buckhorn Lake State Resort Park’s Thanksgiving Buffet. Beginning at 11: 30 A.M. and ending at 4:00 P.M. on Thanksgiving Day, you can enjoy roasted round of beef, turkey & dressing, baked ham and fried chicken. You can also enjoy other Thanksgiving favorites, such as candied yams, green beans, mashed potatoes with giblet gravy, pumpkin pie and much more. Your drink is included in the price for adults $15.99 (+tax & gratuity), for children 6-12 $8.49 (+tax & gratuity), and children 5 and under eat free. Come and share in this time of Thanksgiving.

Kentucky River District Board of Health Meeting

There will be a meeting of the Kentucky River District Board of Health on Dec. 1 at 6:30 p.m. at Pondersoa. All board members are encouraged to attend.

Christmas Bazaar

Everyone’s invited!! We are having a Fund Raiser “Christmas Bazaar” for Shelia Fields who is battling cancer. It will be held on Dec. 9 at Senior Citizen Building located at Perry County Park at 3 p.m. We will be having: Bake Sale, Hot Dog Sale, Lots of Christmas Crafts, Different Vendors set up, Door prizes give away!!!, different singers singing. Come join the fun! If you’re interested in being a vendor, (it’s free of charge, we just ask if you would like to donate something for us to sale.) Share your story. Submissions accepted to HCTC literary magazine Kudzu

For the Spring 2016 issue of Kudzu, Hazard Community and Technical College is seeking submissions under the theme of Women in Appalachia. If you are a writer from the region or wish to submit a piece that fits within that theme, please submit under the category “Women in Appalachia.” HCTC is also accepting general submissions in poetry, fiction, and creative nonfiction.
