A Walk to Remember

Please join us for A Walk to Remember, a memorial walk dedicated to parents and families who have suffered the loss of a child regardless of age, including unborn children. The walk will be held rain or shine on Sunday, May 1 at 2 p.m., at Hospice of the Bluegrass, 57 Dennis Sandlin MD Cove, in Hazard. Spaghetti Dinner Fundraiser

The Auxiliary to the Veterans Of Foreign Wars will be having a Spaghetti Dinner on May 3 at the VFW Post 7387 in Hazard from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Delivery is available. Please call 436-4224

65 Annual National Day of Prayer

The Perry County Ministerial Fellowship will celebrate National Day of Prayer on May 5 at 6 p.m. at the Hazard Amphitheater next to City Hall.

Reforest your Coal Mined Land

If you own land that was surface mined for coal during or after 1980 that is primarily flat and covered with exotic grasses and shrubs and would like to reforest it with native hardwoods and American chestnuts from The American Chestnut Foundation, then contact Kylie Schmidt with Green Forests Work at 859-421-9222. Funding is available through the Cerulean Warbler Appalachian Forestland Enhancement – Regional Conservation Partnership Program and may cover a substantial portion of the cost. Visit to learn more.
