InVision Hazard Building Inventory

InVision Hazard is a citizens’ group interested in the revitalization of downtown Hazard. Our group is helping with economic development and tourism initiatives by creating an inventory of buildings and structures downtown. We do not have any authority to value property or increase taxes. The purpose is to create an accurate assessment of buildings downtown. How much retail space is available, how many apartments are available, how much office space is available? What are the rental rates? This information can be shared with potential tenants and business looking to relocate to downtown. It can also be used to entice businesses to our area by indicating space is available. In the following weeks, we will be interviewing property-owners downtown in order to gain this information.

People with experience in economic development, downtown revitalization, and building construction have recommended all the questions we are asking. We hope property owners will help us by considering all of our questions and giving us the best answers possible.

In March, we will invite community members to a meeting to discuss how the area can best be revitalized. We would greatly value the input of property owners.
