Grand jury hands down indictments

Leading the indictments this month are two men from Hazard who are accused of first-degree robbery.

Dayton Ruch, 27, of Combs and Robert Smith, 26, of Hazard were indicted this month on three counts of first-degree robbery. Bail was set in the amount of $25,000 plus home incarceration.

*Ruch was indicted on a separate case of two counts first-degree wanton endangerment.

*Alexandria Adams, 26, of Bulan was indicted this month on three counts of complicity to first-degree robbery. Bail was set in the amount of $25,000 plus home incarceration.

* Christopher Hatton, 37, of Hazard and David Noble, 37, of Hazard, were indicted this month on one count of second-degree robbery, and one count of complicity to second-degree robbery. Bail was set in the amount of $20,000 plus monitored conditonal release (MCR) and home incarceration.

* Jeffrey Plowman, 26, of Hazard, was indicted this month on one count of second-degree criminal possession of a forged instrument. Bail was set in the amount of $5,000 plus home incarceration.

* Also indicted this month was Shawn D. Noble, 19, of Hazard, who was indicted on one count of second-degree escape. Bail was set in the amount of $10,000 plus home incarceration.

* Orville Napier Jr., 40, of Bulan was indicted this month on one count of theft of services more than $500, a Class D felony. Bail was set in the amount of $5,000 plus home incarceration.

* Misty G. Auxier, 31, of Jackson, was indicted this month on one count of theft by unlawful taking more than $500. Bail was set in the amount of $2,000.

* Miranda L. Smith, 34, of Viper, was indicted this month on three counts of first-offense theft of a legend drug, valued at $300 or less. Bail was set in the amount of $2,5000 plus MCR.

* Shannon Gentry, 40, of Hazard, was indicted this month on one count of third-degree arson, one count of second-degree burglary, two counts of first-degree wanton endangerment, one count of second-degree criminal mischief, and one count of possession of burglary tools. Bail was set in the amount of $50,000 plus home incarceration.

* James Sebastian, 53, of Hazard, was indicted this month on one count of first-degree promoting contraband, one count of drug paraphernalia, one count of first-degree possession of a controlled substance, and one count of public intoxication. Bail was set in the amount of $5,000 cash plus MCR.

* Jeanne Pratt, 27, of Cornettsville, was indicted this month on one count of prescription drugs not in the proper container, one count of first-degree possession of a controlled substance, one count of drug paraphernalia, and one count of first-degree promoting contraband. Bail was set in the amount of $5,000 plus MCR.

* Samantha Williams, 29, of Slemp, was indicted this month on one count of second offense operating a motor vehicle under the influence, one count of first-degree possession of a controlled substance, and one count of third-degree possession of a controlled substance. Bail was set in the amount of $20,000 plus home incarceration.

* Casey Williams, 23, of Leatherwood, was indicted this month on one count of first-degree possession of a controlled substance, and one count of third-degree possession of a controlled substance. Bail was set in the amount of $5,000 plus MCR.

* Michael Fryman, 52, of Hazard, was indicted this month on one count of fourth-degree assault, one count of first-degree promoting contraband and one count of second-degree possession of a controlled substance. Bail was set in the amount of $10,000 plus home incarceration.

* James E. Messer, 45, of Scuddy, was indicted this month on one count of third-degree burglary, one count of possession of burglary tools, one count of first-degree fleeing or evading police, one count of reckless driving, one count of no tail lamps, one count of improper equipment, one count of rear license not illuminated, one count of possession of open alcoholic beverage container in motor vehicle prohibited, and one count of persistent felony offender. Bail was set in the amount of $10,000 cash plus home incarceration.

* Eric Wells, 36, of Hazard, was indicted this month on one count of theft by unlawful taking less than $500, one count of first-degree possession of a controlled substance, and one count of endangering the welfare of a minor. Bail was set in the amount of $5,000 plus MCR.

* James Combs, 27, of Hazard, was indicted this month on one count of first-degree promoting contraband. Bail was set in the amount of $5,000 cash plus MCR.

* Derek Moore, 20, of Ligonier, Indiana, was indicted this month on two counts of first-degree robbery, one count of first-degree fleeing or evading police, one count of theft of a motor vehicle registration plate, seven counts of first-degree wanton endangerment of a police officer, two counts of first-degree wanton endangerment, and one count of receiving stolen property more than $10,000. Bail was set in the amount of $50,000 plus home incarceration.

* On a separate indictment, Moore was charged with one count of second-degree escape. Bail was set in the amount of $10,000 plus home incarceration.

* Chris A. Ritchie, 52, of Hazard, was indicted this month on one count of second-degree possession of a controlled substance, one count of first-degree promoting contraband, one count of prescription drugs not in the prescribed container, one count of tampering with physical evidence, and one count of second-degree persistent felony offender. Bail was set in the amount of $5,000 plus home incarceration.
