Become a foster/adoptive parent
Informational meeting: On Nov. 10, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m at the Perry County Protection and Permanency Office in Hazard. The class is open to individuals regardless of county of residence. This is a question answer time no commitment required. The need for good foster/adoptive homes is very great. If you are over 21 years of age; have a current income are able to pass a background check and you live in a safe home with room for more, then you could be eligible to become a foster/adoptive parent. There will be 10 training classes during consecutive weeks. The classes will be held from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. at the Perry County Office starting Nov. 17, and will meet on Tuesday’s for 10 weeks. The office is located in the Black Gold Shopping Center. Classes are free and all materials will be provided. Everyone is invited to the yard sale at the Sam Fugate Memorial Gymnasium on Nov. 6 from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m., and Nov. 7 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. All proceeds go for new playground equipment for the Hazard Christian Academy. For more information call Misty at 854-4320.
20th Annual Turkey Dinner
The Perry Central Lady Commodore basketball team will host their 20th annual turkey dinner Nov. 8, at the Perry Central cafeteria from 12 to 4 p.m. Men includes: turkey, dressing, rolls, mashed potatoes, green beans, cranberry sauce and dessert. Annual chili day
The Vicco-Sassafras Volunteer Fire and Rescue will be hosting their annual chili day on Nov. 7 at 11 a.m. It will include chili, soup, grilled cheese, hot dogs, taters and a drink. HCTC Craft Fair Nov. 11-13
The annual Hazard Community and Technical College Craft Fair will be Wednesday through Friday, Nov. 11-13 from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. in the First Federal Center, room 123. The fair will feature the beautiful works of Eastern Kentucky artists as well as some yummy treats from Eastern Kentucky kitchens. The public is invited to attend and admission is free.

Artisan Craft Fair
Join Art of the Mountains for their 12th Annual Christmas at the Cabin Artisan Craft sale on Friday, Nov. 13 from 5-8 pm, and Saturday, Nov. 14 from 9 a.m.-5p.m. at the Hazard/Perry County Senior Citizens Center cabin in Perry County Park. The juried show features all handmade items by local crafters, artists, and writers. Winter Basketball League
