HAZARD — A man from the Perry County community of Busy is facing an assault charge after Kentucky State Police (KSP) say he struck a woman across the face with a metal lamp post.

According to the arrest warrant, KSP Trooper John Couch states that on Oct. 30, Patrick D. Combs, 19, of Busy allegedly assaulted Aliyeh Eldridge with a metal lamp post. The arrest warrant says that Eldridge was cut down the right side of her face. The cut ran from her forehead to her cheek, the arrest warrant says.

The arrest warrant says that Eldridge’s skull was showing and she was transported to UK Medical Center. She was released the next day.

On Dec. 1, Deputies Charlie Gayheart and Kevin Day with Perry County Sheriff’s Department attempted to serve the arrest warrant on Combs. According to an uniform citation made by Deputy Gayheart, as both him and Deputy Day approached the trailer that Combs was staying in, Combs allegedy jumped out of the back window of the trailer, and ran into the woods.

He was arrested shortly after, and transported to Kentucky River Regional Jail (KRRJ) where he was lodged in.

Combs is facing one count of first-degree assault, and one count of second-degree fleeing or evading police on foot.
