HAZARD — The City Of Hazard issued a boil water advisory for Town Mountain, all of Big Creek, all of Avawam, and Couchtown down to the 84 Lumber bridge on Dec. 11.
Residents of the affected areas are urged to boil their water prior to use and human consumption. The boil water advisory will remain in place until the threat of bacterial contamination has been eliminated and water samples show that it is safe for human use and consumption.
City officials will notify residents when the boil water advisory has been lifted.
The Hazard Plant collected water samples and the results won’t be available until after 4 p.m. on Dec. 15.
