JACKSON — According to a release made by Kentucky State Police, KSP reports that a Knott County man is dead after the truck he was trying to start ran over him this morning in Jackson. A Kentucky State Police Trooper, along with Breathitt Ambulance and Jackson Fire Department, responded to Robinson Fork Road at approximately 9a.m., after a call came in advising of a male subject and a vehicle being over an embankment.
KSP say that, at the scene, it was determined that 25 year old Travis Watson of Vest, was attempting to start a Ford Ranger pickup truck when it became mobile and ran over him. Watson was pinned underneath the truck as it came to rest in a creek bed. The Breathitt County Coroner’s office pronounced Travis Watson dead at the scene.
The release says that, no autopsy will be performed, and this incident remains under investigation by Tpr. Steve Thomas with KSP Post 13.
