Police still search for alleged tire thieves

HAZARD—Police in Hazard are still on the lookout for some individuals who have been involved in yet another rash of tire thefts this year.

Last week, an alert went out across the Hazard Police Department’s (HPD) tip411 service area of a possible “series of tire thefts” in the northern part of Hazard.

“Early this morning, a patrol unit observed two males flee from the Tim Short Ford lot,” the alert, sent out last Tuesday, said of the incident, which took place at about 4 a.m. that morning. “The officer found several jacks and other items that were being used to remove tires from vehicles on the lot.”

At this point, police do not have a description of the individuals involved in the case, but are asking the public to be on the lookout for any suspicious activity in the area that the incident occurred.

If anyone has any information that could help in this case, call the Hazard Police Department at 436-2222, or text a tip to the HPD at 847-411.
