The Transition Center in the Office of Enrollment Services is pleased to announce the addition of Lee Sharp, who will be serving as Enrollment Services Counselor for Regional Campuses/Transfer Advisor. Sharp will be based at the University Center of the Mountains (UCM): Higher Education Center, on the campus of Hazard Community and Technical College (CTC) in Hazard, KY. He will travel among the campuses of Big Sandy CTC, Hazard CTC, Southeast KY CTC, and Somerset CC to assist current and prospective transfer students with admissions, advising, and other student services. “We are delighted to welcome Lee as the newest member to our in-house UCM Student Services Team,” observed Dr. Deronda Mobelini, UCM Director. “I, and our students, are appreciative of our four-year partners’ support in providing transfer counselors, such as Lee, in the UCM on HCTC’s campus to talk with and guide our students through the transfer process. Lee has already jumped right in to assist our students.” Morehead Transfer Advisor Lee Sharp will be meeting with students, faculty, and staff to inform them of the exciting opportunities available to transfer students at MSU such as regional campuses, online degree completer programs, and transfer scholarships.
Lee was born and raised in Hamilton, Ohio, and is a two time graduate of Morehead State University, receiving his Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in Business Administration. Lee also served in the Kentucky Army National Guard for six years, and was called up for two state disaster relief missions and deployed to Iraq in 2009.
Jen Timmermann, Transfer Senior Enrollment Services Counselor, noted, “We are incredibly pleased to have Lee join Team Transfer. His proactive approach to student service along with his friendly, approachable personality will make him a very valuable asset to the areas he serve. “
