HAZARD — At the most recent Hazard Perry County Chamber of Commerce meeting, Hospice of the Bluegrass presented Betsy Clemons with the prestigious BB&T Hospice Hero Award for 2015. Clemons is the Chamber’s executive director and she has also served on the Hospice of the Bluegrass Board of Directors. According to Hospice of the Bluegrass representatives, Betsy Clemons has been an invaluable asset to the organization in the Hazard area through her fundraising, marketing and advocacy.
Hospice of the Bluegrass understands the value of hard work, compassion and skill. This understanding is part of the reason the organization has been able to expand into 32 Kentucky counties, caring for over 1,000 patients on a daily basis. Another major contributing factor to the success of Hospice is the work of volunteers like Clemons, who act as leaders on the local level to keep Hospice in touch with the community and help provide valuable resources and connections.
Clemons’s dedication has not only benefited Hospice of the Bluegrass. She has also assisted in providing a great service to the community. Hospice helps many of our local citizens in their times of need by providing care to end-of-life patients, their families and the bereaved within the communities they serve.
Betsy Clemons has served on several boards and committees which have worked to improve the community. More information about Hospice of the Bluegrass can be found on their website, hospicebg.org.
