GRAPEVINE — A traffic accident involving a school bus and a tractor trailer occurred at approximately 3:30 p.m., Feb. 29 on Highway 15 in the Grapevine community. Perry County Schools bus number 419 was carrying one student and the driver, when a tractor trailer from Dayton Freight struck the bus from behind. The student was taken to the hospital for examination. However, it is believed that no one in either vehicle was seriously injured in the wreck.

According to emergency workers on the scene, the tractor trailer had a malfunction with its brakes preventing the truck from completely stopping in time to avoid collision with the bus. The bus had made a couple of stops prior to the accident, so traffic behind the bus was moving slowly. The damage to the vehicles appeared to be minor.
