HAZARD — The Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary Post 7387 in Hazard applied for a national VFW foundation grant in the amount of 1,000 dollars to aid in needed items for the Corner Haven Crisis Center. The auxiliary was awarded that grant and purchased large quantities of needed items such as: pots, storage containers, toilet paper, paper towels, trash bags, plates, silverware and many other items identified by the center as necessity items.

“This is the first grant that the auxiliary has applied for and we are very excited that we were given the opportunity to give back to our community,” noted Auxiliary President Rebecca Davidson.

The items were delivered by Auxiliary members on March 5 with help from Shelter volunteers. The auxiliary hopes to impact the community in any way when given the opportunity.
