Grand jury hands down indictments

HAZARD — The Perry County Grand Jury handed down indictments this month.

*J.P. Miller, 44, of Chavies, Brandon Williams, 28, of Hazard and Tiffany Olinger, 40, of Hazard were indicted this month on three counts of second-degree criminal possession of a forged instrument and two counts of theft by deception less than $500. Bail was set in the amount of $5,000 surety plus MCR.

*Matthew A. Hurt, 26, of Wooton was indicted on one count of theft by unlawful taking purse snatching $500 or more, a Class D felony. Bail was set in the amount of $5,000 cash plus MCR.

*Justin M. Arnett, 26, of Slayersville was indicted on one count of public intoxication, one count of first-degree possession of controlled substance and one count of first-degree promoting contraband. Bail was set in the amount of $5,000 cash plus MCR.

*Brandon Turner, 22, of Yeaddiss was indicted this month on one count of kidnapping adult, a Class B felony. Bail was set in the amount of $10,000 cash.

*John Haddix, 31, of Hazard was indicted on one count of third-degree assault and one count of menacing. Bail was set in the amount of $5,000 cash.
