WHICK — A beloved citizen of Perry County has passed away at the age of 23. Justin Miller of Lost Creek tragically lost his life in an accident that occurred while he was on the job for Asplundh Tree Expert Company in the Whick community of Breathitt County. According to Kentucky State Police, the cause of death was electrocution, which occurred while Miller was trimming a tree at approximately 9:40 Monday morning. Troopers responded to the scene along with Arrowmed Ambulance, Wolfcoal Fire Department, Jackson Fire Department and American Electric Power.
Displays of love for Justin Miller and his family have poured in from multitudes throughout the region. Friends have shared photos of Justin working, hanging out and participating in activities he enjoyed, such as riding motorcycles. Justin Miller was a loving husband and father, with another child on the way.
The employees of Asplundh play an important role in day-to-day life for local citizens. The company clears trees that could cause disruptions or even dangers to the community. The job is difficult and those who do it are brave.

Mr. Justin Lee Miller born May 14, 1992 departed this life April 18 in Breathitt County being 23-years, 11-months, and 4-days old. Justin was born in Hazard, the Son of Jerry Wayne Miller and Anita Watts Miller. Justin was preceded in death by his Grandparents, Hester and Rushie Miller, Gobel and Laverna Watts, and Clarence “Gabby” Grigsby.
Mr. Justin Lee Miller leaves the following relatives to cherish his memory: Wife, Delanna Miller of Hazard; Son, Justin Wayne Miller; Daughter, Kyndell Elaine Miller; Parents, Jerry Wayne and Anita Miller of Hazard; Brother, Jerry Wayne Miller, Jr. and Miranda of Hazard, KY; Special Friend, Charlie Ray Noble of Hazard; Grandmother, Linda “Nana” Grigsby; Grandfather, Manuel Miller; Two Nephews, Jadeon Lindon and Manuel Cash Miller; Niece, Canyon Lashae Carol Miller; Aunt, Cristy Miller; Two Uncles, David Miller and Mark Campbell; Also a host of other relatives and friends survive.
Funeral Services for Mr. Justin Lee Miller will be conducted on Monday April 25 at 1:00 P.M. at the Engle-Bowling Funeral Home on East Main Street with Emmitt Campbell officiating. The Interment will follow in the Miller Family Cemetery located at Lost Creek, Kentucky. The Visitation will be at the Engle-Bowling Funeral Home on Sunday Evening from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.
