On Monday, Kentucky River Community Care’s The Rising Center took its message to the streets, or the sidewalks. As part of “Chalk the Walk” for sexual assault awareness and prevention, KRCC staff and participants from Hazard Community and Technical College wrote messages of hope and healing with sidewalk chalk. Representatives from The Rising Center also visited Lees College in Jackson and Alice Lloyd College in Pippa Passes. This action event provides opportunities for folks to connect as they create messages, and it invites others to engage with the message as they pass by.
