HAZARD — Saturday, April 30, will mark the 9th anniversary of Hazard’s annual Autism Support Group Funday. The event will take place at Hazard High School’s football field, right behind the school from 12:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m.
Michael Dwayne of WKIC Radio will be on site, providing music. There will be special appearances by Yoshi, Sonic and the Minion, as well as food, games, face painting, prizes, an auction and inflatables. This year the event has also included an icy truck.
The Hazard Police Department, Hazard Fire Department and the Ambulance Service participate every year to make the day even more exciting for kids. HPD gives the kids special identification tags. A fire truck, police car and ambulance are at the event for kids to tour. Traditionally, the day ends with a balloon release in honor of autism awareness.
Funday is designed to provide fun for the whole family. Everyone is invited to attend. The Autism Support Group of Perry County is in charge of organizing Funday. The group can be found and contacted through Facebook.
